Awards & Certifications
GLOBALFOUNDRIES's production facilities in Singapore, Dresden, Germany and Malta, Burlington and East Fishkill in the USA have been certified to the International Organization for Standardization (ISO),
ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 standards.
ISO 9001 standards set the requirements necessary to ensure the production of quality products and services, including standards relating to management systems, management responsibility, resource management, product realization, measurement, analysis and improvement. GLOBALFOUNDRIES has also received the
ISO/TS 16949 certification for all Singapore Fabs and have met the yearly surveillance and 3-yearly re-certification audit requirements.
ISO/TS 16949 is one of the most comprehensive quality standards in the industry. It defines the quality system requirements for use in the automotive supply chain - one of the industries that GLOBALFOUNDRIES serves. The ISO/TS
16949 certification also requires companies to emphasize meeting customer requirements, defect prevention, reduction of variation and waste in the supply chain and to continually improve the effectiveness and efficiency of business processes. The
ISO 9001 and ISO/TS
16949 certifications involve stringent periodic third party reviews and verifications of our production processes and quality management systems. They serve as recognition to GLOBALFOUNDRIES's commitment to achieving manufacturing excellence and quality standards. Recognized for quality processes and exceptional customer service, GLOBALFOUNDRIES was honored with Semiconductor International Magazine's Top Fab Award in 1997, 2004 and 2006 and "Fab of the Year" 2001 (Dresden Fab).
All GLOBALFOUNDRIES's manufacturing facilities have achieved external certification to OHSAS 18001 (Occupational Health & Safety Management System) and ISO 14001 (Environmental Management System) standards. ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 are global standards that drive robust Environmental, Health and Safety management systems: Our OHSAS 18001 certified occupational health and safety management systems enable us to identify and control occupational health and safety risks in order to continually improve occupational health and safety. Our ISO 14001 certified environmental management systems enable us to understand our environmental aspects in order to control our environmental impact and to continually improve. Fab 9 and Fab 10 (Burlington and East Fishkill in the USA) have also addressed the product related requirements of the ISO 14001 Standard as an additional certification scope and achieved extra certification for their product stewardship program. Fab 1 (Dresden, Germany) has put an additional focus on energy management and has established an ISO 50001 certified energy management system.
Our fabs 2, 3, 5, 3E in Singapore as well as Fab 9 and 10 (Burlington and East Fishkill in the USA) are certified to the Sony Green Partner Program. Our other fabs, which do not hold a Sony Green Partner Program certificate have equivalent systems in place to ensure product compliance.

In the quest for continuous improvement to serve customers better,
GLOBALFOUNDRIES conducts Customer Surveys on a periodic basis
to solicit ratings and feedback on both quality and service
from key customers. We also ask to be ranked among against other
suppliers. The feedback is reviewed and analyzed, and improvement
actions identified, tracked and implemented.
GLOBALFOUNDRIES Customer Portal (Foundry View)
COLAS, is a one-stop, web-based information system that provides
customers 24-hour online access to GLOBALFOUNDRIES's extensive
library of data and information, further enhances our service
quality. This information system delivers business information
through a fast, reliable and secure online portal that enables
authorized users to obtain Design, Engineering and Logistics
information that the user can personalize based on their requirements.

- Data is collected on a continuous basis to ensure its specifications
and performances have not been affected by process variation

GLOBALFOUNDRIES has world-class failure analysis facilities
to support the following:
- Customer Return
Thorough analysis is performed on all returns to determine the
root cause of the failure. In the event that the root cause
originates from the wafer fabrication process, feedback is made
to the Fab so as to generate the appropriate corrective and

Providing physical analysis for continuous yield improvement.
Analysis of line rejects allows us to closely monitor our manufacturing
process, and adopt the necessary corrective actions to rectify
