GF fabs in East Fishkill, New York and Singapore are actively developing SiPh solutions. The solutions leverage collaborative research and development innovations, high-volume manufacturing capabilities and advanced packaging, including passive alignment fiber attach that draws on extensive, in-house ASIC expertise.

GF’s SiPh portfolio includes:

  • An industry-first silicon photonics solution built on 90 nm technology and featuring:
    • Monolithic integration of RF and digital elements, silicon photonics and fiber coupling
    • Electro-optic PDK that enables co-design of both electrical and optical components at 1310 nm
    • Extensive investment in test capabilities, from wafer to module level, and including wafer characterization that enables fine tuning of SiPh manufacturing processes based on real-time measured results
    • Fast prototyping through cost-effective multi-project wafer (MPW) runs
  • Strong development roadmap for next-generation, higher data rate systems, including:
    • 300 mm manufacturing and advanced lithography designed to deliver best-in-class performance and yield
    • Optimized components for polarization and wavelength diversity, low power and low loss
    • High bandwidth RF/analog interconnect for 50+ Gbaud systems
