GLOBALFOUNDRIES Sets Sights on SEMICON West

New semiconductor foundry to showcase leading-edge manufacturing capabilities

GLOBALFOUNDRIES, the world’s first truly global leading-edge semiconductor manufacturing company, will be taking center stage at one of the industry’s most important trade shows--SEMICON West, held July 13-16 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, CA. GLOBALFOUNDRIES plans a significant presence at the show, including prominent roles in two featured events. Tom Sonderman, vice president of manufacturing systems and technology, will participate in the Foundry Summit, a two-hour panel discussion on the market strategies, technologies, capital spending, and other strategic plans of the world's major chip foundries. Sonderman will describe how GLOBALFOUNDRIES is leveraging its operational agility and technology leadership to transform the landscape of the foundry industry. And at the annual SEMI Press Luncheon, Norm Armour, newly appointed vice president and general manager of Fab 2, will present a history of the Fab 2 project and an overview of the capabilities of the new facility, which is expected to be the world’s most advanced semiconductor foundry when the project reaches completion.
