Tony Tsai
Vice President, Quality and Reliability Assurance

Tony Tsai is Vice President, Quality and Reliability Assurance at GLOBALFOUNDRIES. In this role, Tsai leads GLOBALFOUNDRIES' ongoing efforts in quality control management, operational best practices and business excellence throughout the company, and he reports to the COO.

Tsai joined GLOBALFOUNDRIES in December 2009 with the integration of operations of Chartered Semiconductor Manufacturing. Tsai joined Chartered in October 2006 in a similar role.

Tsai has more than 30 years of experience in driving quality in manufacturing operations. Before joining Chartered, he spent more than 10 years with Powerchip Semiconductor Corporation, where he held the position of chief quality officer. Prior to that, Tsai was head of reliability and QA operations at Motorola Taiwan. He also held quality control and assurance positions in Bourns (Electronics) Taiwan and Precision Monolithic Incorporation, an analog IC testing company which has since been bought over by Analog Devices Inc.

Tsai holds a bachelor of electronics engineering from Tamkang University, Taiwan, and an executive MBA from the National Chiao Tung University, Taiwan.
