Dr. Suresh Venkatesan

Dr. Suresh Venkatesan is senior vice president of technology development operations at GLOBALFOUNDRIES. In this role, he focuses on technology operational excellence, accelerating development and execution of key technology milestones, and achieving customer satisfaction through technology delivery.

Venkatesan is an industry veteran with over 20 years of experience in semiconductor technology development. Prior to joining GLOBALFOUNDRIES in 2009, he held various leadership positions with Freescale Semiconductor in Austin, Texas, including High Performance CMOS and NVM Technology development, Technology Strategy and Program Management, and Silicon Technology Solutions.

Venkatesan began his career with Motorola, Inc., serving in roles of increasing responsibility including engineering manager of CMOS Platform Development and as engineering director for Thoughtbeam, Inc., a Motorola company.

Venkatesan holds over twenty US patents, and has co-authored over 40 technical papers. He holds a Bachelor of Technology in Electrical Engineering degree from the Indian Institute of Technology and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering and PhD degrees from Purdue University.
